The Shepton Mallet Prison Museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time discover an array of artefacts, documents and photographs.
The museum boasts a variety of fascinating content. From prisoners’ belongings that were discovered throughout the site to a wide variety of books, films and TV shows featuring the prison, there is a lot to explore and discover!
A collection of officer accessories can also be found, such as epaulettes, key chains, names badges and commemorative medals. When you visit us, our team will aim to educate and enlighten you about some of the more personal elements of prison life alongside the role of the historic market town of Shepton Mallet.
