Arriving by car

Pay and display parking is available at Great Ostry Car Park, BA4 5DB, 300m or Commercial Road Car Park, 600m from the prison (BA4 5FQ).

Arriving by train

Castle Cary Train Station is located approximately a 15-minute drive away.

There are a number of taxi and bus services between the station and the prison, including Swift Taxis, Regal Taxis, Mum’s Taxis.

The bus service runs hourly and is bus number 1, 1A or 1C.

Arriving by coach

If arriving by coach, you will be dropped off outside the front of Shepton Mallet Prison.

The coach will pick you up from the same location, outside the prison, after your visit is completed.
